Quantum Research Seminar: Hans Christensen & Francesco Gargiulo

Speaker: Hans Christensen, NQCP A&A

Title: Quantum simulation of non-Markovian open quantum systems
Abstract: The dynamics of most physical quantum systems are influenced by the environment of the system. These systems are known as open quantum systems. Accurate simulation of open quantum systems is essential for modelling transient and convergent phenomena such as decay and thermalization. I will present a versatile quantum computer algorithm for simulating open quantum systems, which my colleagues and I developed.

Speaker: Francesco Gargiulo, Quantum Optics

Title: Quantum simulations of atom-atom interaction mediated by light in a waveguide

About the Quantum Research Seminar:

The Quantum Research Seminar (QRS) is a student-led monthly seminar series featuring talks from early career researchers in quantum science at KU. It takes place every second Friday of the month from 12-13 in HCØ. Free lunch is provided.

The goal of the QRS is to bring together the quantum community at KU and provide a space for PhDs and PostDocs to practice presenting their research to a wider audience within quantum sciences.
